What is the Harold Greenwood Thomas Award?
Harold Greenwood
Thomas is considered by the Safety Institute of Australia Ltd (SIA) to be an
important founder of our organisation, and a man of influence through his
contribution to the body of knowledge of safety in Australia. In recognition of his status, the SIA has
struck an award in his honour.
The award is for
an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the aims and
objectives of the Institute. It can be, but
is not necessarily, an annual award, and is structured to be the highest
non-membership honour the SIA can bestow on a person in Australia.
Who can be nominated?
Any member of
the Safety Institute of Australia Ltd can be nominated for the award. Any individual, SIA Division, Chapter or Branch
or other professional body can nominate someone for the award.
How do you nominate someone?
To nominate
someone for the Harold Greenwood Thomas award, the attached form should be
completed and sent to the Awards Committee:
