Ceremony

Overview

Once members of the Safety Institute of Australia attain Fellowship grades, their Fellowship is conferred in person by our Patron, His Excellency The Governor General of the Commonwealth of Australia. Each year an investiture ceremony is held at Government House, Yarralumla in Canberra, ACT and the new Fellows receive their Fellowship from the Governor General and take the College of Fellows Pledge which is an articulation of the SIA Code of Ethics. All new Fellows of the SIA receive an invitation to participate in an investiture ceremony at Yarralumla. Over one hundred Fellows have already had their Fellowships conferred by the Governor General.

Pledge

Fellows must undertake the College of Fellows Pledge which is an articulation of the SIA Code of Ethics.
