Obama selects new CSB chairman

Moure-Eraso was nominated by US President Barack Obama in March and was last week appointed Chairman CSB, according to a statement by the CSB. 

Outgoing chairman John Bresland, who will remain on the CSB’s board, last week announced that it would investigate the disaster at the expense of other major investigations.

Influential Democrat and House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Henry Waxman had asked the CSB some weeks prior to investigate the accident.

Moure-Eraso, a certified industrial hygienist, was previously head of the University of Massachusetts, Lowell, Department of Work Environment, School of Health and Environment.
