VIC Branch: Inaugural Eminent Speaker Seminar

Status: Confirmed
Date(s): 20 Mar 2012
Time: 17:00 - 18:30
Location: Graduate House, Carlton, VIC

Associate Professor Geoff Dell will present his view on:

‘Accident investigations and the need for education and training.’

Dr Dell has previously been Dean of the College of Fellows and National President (on two occasions) at the Safety Institute of Australia.

While Dean of the College of Fellows in early 2011, Dr Dell started working with CQUniversity to implement a new degree program in the developing field of forensic accident investigation.

These new teaching and research programs will complement the safety science, OHS and human factors programs already offered by CQUniversity.

Dr Dell encourages degree-level studies in forensic accident investigation "to ensure Australia is better placed to learn lessons from accidents, whether they occur in aviation, traffic, rail or industrial settings".
