McDonald’s Australia has a network of over 860 restaurants around Australia, of which around 70% are franchised. Including franchised stores, the McDonald’s system employs around 90,000 people.
Hayley has qualifications in Law and Social Science (majoring in psychology). She has worked as a solicitor in private practice and currently holds the position of National Workplace Health & Safety Manager for McDonald’s Australia Ltd. Her talk looks at some of the challenges faced by McDonald’s as an employer of youth, as well as some of the strategies that they have used in the last few years which have seen their incident rates decline steadily over time.
