Mr Steve Korkoneas, National Operations and Technical Manager

Medvet’s resident Toxicologist, Mr. Steve Korkoneas, provides technical and analytical expertise across all alcohol and other drug testing and training services.

From 1987 – 2001 Mr. Korkoneas worked at Racing Analytical Services as a senior analytical chemist.  This work included regular screening and confirmatory testing to AS/NZS 4308 on human and equine specimens.  From 2001 until 2007 Mr. Korkoneas worked as Head of Toxicology at Dorevitch Pathology’s main Victorian laboratory. In 2007 Mr. Korkoneas moved to Medvet Laboratories as the National Drug Testing Manager and was appointed National Operations & Technical Manager in 2009.

He has professional memberships and affiliations with the following organisations

• Royal Australian Chemical Institute (1990 – Present)
• ANZFSS - Australia & New Zealand Forensic Science Society (1995 – Present)
• Committee member ANZFSS (2004 – Present)
• The International Association of Forensic Toxicologists (2002 – Present)
