Guest Speakers:

Jon Temby – Presentation title: “Current issues, ideas and challenges for improving health and safety performance”.

Jon has over 25 years of experience working across mining, construction, manufacturing, facility management, transport and other sectors. Jon is the Director of Jon Temby and Associates Pty Ltd, an OHS consultancy providing professional health and safety services in Australia and overseas. Jon is both a Director and Chartered Fellow of the Safety Institute of Australia, Chairman of its Victorian Branch and an Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management. Jon is a co-leader of the SIA’s National Technical Panel and coordinated the SIA submissions on the harmonised Act and Regulations.

Ian McLeod – Presentation title: “Regional Rail Link Project – Safety during Procurement and Delivery of a Major Rail Infrastructure Project”. 

Ian is the Safety Manager at the Regional Rail Link Authority at the Department of Transport. Ian is a qualified Engineer with over 20 years of experience through the entire construction industry supply chain (engineering designers, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and client/superintendent roles). Ian’s experience, coupled with his interest in engaging with people and improving their working lives has led to a natural career progression into the area of health, safety and well being. Ian has previously worked as a Safety Manager at Aurecon, as an OHS and Rail Safeworking Manager at Leighton Contractors and various other related roles.
