HFESA: PD Session - Human Factors, The Driving Future, Prof Mike Regan

Many new technologies are finding their way into the vehicle cockpit - to support drivers to drive safely, to entertain them, to provide them with information and to allow them to communicate with the outside world. These technologies are here already and are changing the driving task.  Some vehicles already exist that can drive themselves and are driving along the streets of Nevada in the United States. What are the human factors and other implications of these developments? What should we be doing as a profession to shape the driving future?

Professor Mike Regan is a researcher and lecturer with Transport and Road Safety (TARS) Research, in the School of Aviation, at the University of NSW in Sydney.  He is the President Elect of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society of Australia. He has more 20 years' experience in transportation human factors research and practice and has devoted the last 10 years of his career to research on the interaction between drivers and intelligent driver safety systems.

No RSVP required.  Free event, everyone welcome.
