Session 2 - Knowledge with Networking Series - Safety Hazard: Workplace Bullying

Knowledge
with Networking is a 6 part series that will be held on the 3rd
Wednesday of the month at the Grand Hotel, Sydney. This is an opportunity to hear what others
are doing in Health & Safety, extend your network base and stay for the
Committee meeting to understand and influence the SIA strategy for NSW.
Session
2 builds on the presentation of the last meeting when Dr Anne Wyatt and Dr Carlo Caponecchia provided
us the background to workplace bullying.
In this session we are shown an integrated approach
to managing and reducing incidents of bullying in the workplace in 3 areas:
- Effective
case management – to deal with incidents of bullying when they occur
- Constructive
communication skills – to build skills for dealing with workplace conflict
and engender collaboration
- Positive
culture development - to create a system of
working together that enables constructive communication and inhibits
bullying behaviour.
At the end of the session you will be
equipped with actions that you can take immediately into your workplaces.
