NSW Branch: Knowledge with Networking Series - Preventing and Managing Workplace Bullying

Session 1 - Preventing and managing workplace bullying: working through the constraints

Knowledge with Networking is a 6 part series that will be held on the third Wednesday of the month at the Grand Hotel, Sydney. This is an opportunity to hear what others are doing in Health & Safety, extend your network base and stay for the Committee meeting to understand and influence the SIA strategy for NSW.

Session 1 addresses an emerging issue. Workplace bullying is more common and costly than most people realise. It can make life unbearable for employees in any industry, and ultimately undermine an organisation’s bottom line. This session will touch on what constitutes workplace bullying and distinguishes it from other unacceptable behaviours at work. The constraints encountered when dealing with bullying will also be discussed. The talk is presented by Dr Anne Wyatt and Dr Carlo Caponecchia, two of the foremost people working and researching in this area.
