The Gippsland Sub Branch was approved at State/National executive level in late 2004, and held its first meeting in February 2005. The vision and mission of the Branch are:
Vision: Gippsland Region free from workplace deaths, disease and serious injury.
Mission: To provide regionally based professional development opportunities for SIA members who live or work in Gippsland, and to promote safety and health awareness within the Gippsland Region.
The Branch holdsmember meetings comprising a seminar/discussion topic in February, April, June and August each year. These are followed by a short committee meeting. During October members are encouraged to support the Work Safe Week activities of the two local regional safety networks. The AGM and end-of-year social activity is held in December.
