On the 3rd May 1994 Snr. Constable Derrick McManus was shot 14 times with a highpowered
rifle and was lying on the ground for 3 hours before he could be rescued. He
not only survived but also returned first to his family and then, despite all medical
predictions, to his work with the elite Special Tasks and Rescue (STAR) Group.
Be inspired by Derrick’s zest for life and competition; learn how to overcome your
biggest challenges and how to triumph where others believe it’s impossible –
personally and professionally.
