This week is Hearing Awareness Week in South Australia. In recognition of this event, SafeWork SA has put forward a list of tools and tips for employers to assist them to manage noise issues in their workplace. These tools and tips include information on noise, guidance from WorkSafe WA on managing noise, interactive demonstrations of the effects of noise induced hearing loss, the noise management at work control guide (developed by SafeWork Australia) and a list of noise assessment consultants (provided by the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists).
SafeWork SA report that one in six Australians is deaf, deaf/blind, hearing impaired or has a chronic ear disorder.
So if noise is an issue in your workplace head to the SafeWork SA website for more information.
