Safe Work Australia is undertaking a review of the national guidance material relating to safety when working on the waterfront. The review examines current material published in 2009 to identify content that should be adapted for inclusion in a model code of practice for stevedoring. The code of practice is currently under development in support of the harmonised WHS laws.
Safe Work Australia are calling for public submissions and comments on the issues surrounding this work. An issues paper has been developed to guide the consultation processes. There is also a cover sheet and response sheet available to assist people to structure their submission.
