SIA Creating a Brand Identity Project - Online Member Survey
The Safety Institute of Australia Inc (SIA) is undertaking a brand and communications audit to help assess how our corporate identity reflects the SIA's future direction and strategic plan. The Creating a Brand Identity Project encompasses not only the look and feel of the current SIA name and logo but how we see ourselves, how we are perceived by our many stakeholders, how we would like to be seen and our vision for the future. To help provide us with your thoughts on this major project, we ask you take the time, 10-15 minutes, to complete the following questionnaire by Monday 22 December 2008.

CELEBRATING THE SIA'S 60TH ANNIVERSARY - A PROUD HISTORY UNDERPINNING A BIG FUTURE
In 2009, the Safety Institute of Australia Inc (SIA) will celebrate its 60th anniversary and its many achievements over that period - particularly its role in fostering a body of knowledge and level of OHS expertise and professional excellence that over the years has been directly responsible for facilitating a safe and healthy workplace for all Australians.

The institute begain 59 years ago when the first group of students in the Industrial Safety and Accident Prevention course at Melbourne Technical College formed the Industrial Safety Research Group.

The Monash University Accident Research Centre (MUARC) and the Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine welcome you, on behalf of the Australian Injury Prevention Network, to the 9th National Conference on Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion.
New Patron
The Safety Institute of Australia have now been formally advised that the new Governor-General (Her Excellency Ms Quentin Bryce AC Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia) has agreed to accept our invitation to become the SIA's Patron.

HaSPA Update
In response to a recent invitation from WorkSafe Victoria for Public Comment on the WorkSafe Position - Employing or engaging a suitably qualified person, the SIA have made a formal submission.
The HasPA web page is available here and includes a download of the SIA submission and other information.
There is also a bi-monthly newsletter, produced as a tool to foster communication with OHS Professionals about the activities of the Health and Safety Professionals Alliance (HaSPA).
