A 51 year-old man was crushed while carrying out repairs on a 4WD in Dandenong. The front of the vehicle was on a ramp and the rear supported with a hydraulic trolley jack. It is believed that the vehicle dropped and rolled back, crushing the man.
BHP Billiton Olympic Dam Corporation Pty Ltd has been fined for $76,000 for failing to ensure that an employee was safe from injury and risks to health while at work. The company received its penalty after pleading guilty to Section 19(1) of the Occupational Health, Safety and Welfare Act 1986.
