WorkCover claims for psychological injuries within the Queensland Police Service cost $2.75 million in 2009-10 – almost as much in WorkCover claims for physical injuries to officers.

SIA member insurance claim settled

The settlement of a recent claim, which was made against a Safety Institute of Australia (SIA) member by a sub-contractor who was seriously injured following a fall at a building site, is a good example of how much it costs to prove innocence and avoid having to pay “contribution” just because one worked for a principal who is being sued, according to the SIA’s endorsed insurance broker, Teamcare Insurance Brokers.
