Study: pre-employment assessments have negligible OHS impact
There is little evidence that pre-employment assessments specific to certain jobs or health problems can reduce occupational disease, injury or sick leave rates, according to a recent academic review.
New regulations will be introduced in NSW to mandate safety switches in all workplaces, bringing the state into line with other jurisdictions including South Australia, West Australia, Northern Territory and Queensland.
Workplace conflict under OHS harmonisation spotlight
Although considered the “soft” side of safety, workplace conflict can be tough to manage and will come under greater scrutiny when the new model workplace health and safety laws come into force, according to a workplace conflict specialist.
