National Review into Model OHS Laws - SIA Formal Submission
The SIA congratulates the Federal Government on taking the initiative to commission this very important and timely National Review into Model OHS Laws and we look forward to continuing to work constructively with the Review Team members and all other stakeholders (Government and non-Government) to ensure outcomes are achieved, through key elements such as OHS professional excellence, that will facilitate a safe and healthy workplace for all Australians, create business value and reduce social costs.
The SIA's formal submission was forwarded to the National OHS Review Secretariat on 11 July 2008.

Updated Information on the new Work Safety Act 2008
Note: The new Act takes effect on 1 July 2009
A series of web pages are now available on the ACT Occupational Health & Safety site, with a range of information and support in regard to the new Work Safety Act 2008. The new Act takes effect on 1 July this year, at which time it replaces the existing Occupational Health and Safety Act 1989.
