Day 3

Keynote Address

9:00AM – 10:00AM

Opportunities Abound with New National Work Health and Safety Laws
Mr Ian Forsyth, Deputy Chief Executive, WorkSafe Victoria

Ian Forsyth

The new national work health and safety laws present a perfect opportunity for all Australian businesses to ramp up their approach to safety.  With uniform laws and regulations across the country, businesses will no longer need to comply with different safety requirements in different states, and can instead focus their efforts on improving their own safety systems and culture.  The new laws are a perfect reason to take stock and ask – “do we have the right systems, the right controls, the right skills and the right approach to safety?” Ultimately, this is a great opportunity to build or strengthen your safety culture – to ensure everyone returns home safe, every day.
