The Australasian Pulp & Paper Industry Technical Association (Appita) and the Pulp & Paper Industry HS&E Unit are excited to announce our conference partnership with the Safety Institute of Australia (SIA).

SIA Members are invited join us for the Deep Water Horizon – Investigative Insight Seminar which will be held on Thursday 16, 2017 in conjunction with the Appita Fibre Value Chain Conference, Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre.

The 2016 disaster movie, directed by Peter Berg and starring Mark Wahlberg and John Malkovich amongst others, tells the story of the 2010 BP oil disaster which cost 11 lives and caused massive pollution in the US Gulf of Mexico. But what story does it tell?

The Deepwater Horizon Film screening will provide background for presentations by two leading experts in process safety with personal and direct experience in the post incident investigative process.  Peter Wilkinson – GM Risk, Noetic Group, who supported the U.S. Government’s investigation and Professor Andrew Hopkins, will tell their story of how and why this disaster happened.

It promises to be informative and thoughtful seminar – places are limited so please register now.
