The Safety Institute of Australia's Gold Coast network, cordially invites you to attend a meeting at 10.00am (AEST) on Friday 18 May 2018.
We are fortunate to have Stephen Woolger, Manager Health & Safety for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, address the meeting with all of the inside information from what was a mammoth WHS event project.
Stephen will also share some experiences from the many people engaged to oversee WHS at the venues.

SPEAKER Stephen Woolger, Manager Health & Safety, Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games
Stephen is the Manager Health and Safety at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Corporation (GOLDOC) and has over 30 years’ experience as a health and safety professional across a variety of industries and environments. Having trained in the British Army as an Environmental Health Officer, and served in various regions of the world including Germany, Cyprus, Bosnia, Central America, the Falkland Islands and the United States of America, Stephen emigrated to Australia in 2005 to join the Australian Army.
Since leaving the Australian Regular Army and transferring to the Army Reserve Stephen has worked in senior WHS positions in Energex (South East Queensland power distribution), and the City of Gold Coast Council and more recently as the Manager Health and Safety for GOLDOC.
Given the scale and complexity of this large sporting event Stephen remains motivated and committed to ensuring that the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games is delivered in a safe environment, ensuring a positive experience for all Constituent Groups attending or involved in this event.
