Manager and supervisor training is part of WorkSafe Victoria's strategy to build capability and change behaviour towards health and safety. WorkSafe Victoria has developed a 6 day  and a 1 day extension update  training course for managers and supervisors for those who are on the frontline or shop-floor, responsible for directly supervising employees and making sure the job gets done.

The courses focus on the OHS roles and responsibilities of the managers and supervisors focusing on :

Legal duties under the OHS Act 2004 and the Accident and Compensation Act
Basic understanding about the OHS Act 2004 and the Accident and Compensation Act
Understand the role and assistance of other key parties can provide
Knowledge of where and how to gain assistance  and
Understanding the role of OHS  in the workplace in the prevention on injury and illness.

WorkSafe will be holding information sessions to inform organisations who may interested in delivering the courses about WorkSafe's expectations and conditions of approval for the delivery of both courses.
